We are both the sword and the shield for our clients.

The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor embodies a passion for justice. We are both the sword and the shield for our clients. We have successfully handled thousands of cases for our clients ranging from collisions involving: trucks, motorcycles and cars to Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home abuse and neglect cases. We have also successfully handled hundreds of cases for injured workers throughout North Carolina.

While injuries have been Jason’s legal focus for 20 years, other lawyers in the firm provide services in various areas including: wills and estate planning, elder law, employment discrimination, unemployment appeals, as well as wrongful terminations. Nursing Home Abuse & Neglect

Regulations force the nursing homes to adjust to the needs of each patient, rather than have the patient adjust to the facility. If the facility does not meet these basic requirements of care, the result can be a problem of neglect throughout the facility that can result in injury or death to the residents. Read more

Work Injuries

First step is to determine if you are covered by workers compensation insurance. The NC Workers’ Compensation Act of 1929 covers employees of employers that consistently employ three or more people. Read more

Medical Malpractice

Medical Negligence cases are unique for several reasons. One reason is that these cases involve a profession we turn to for help, not one we typically associate with causing harm. Read more

At Avon, an all boys boarding school, Jason enjoyed playing lacrosse and football while still actively hunting and fishing.

Following Avon Old Farm School, Jason traveled to upstate New York and attended Hobart College in Geneva, NY. Getting more serious about his studies and wanting to get out of the northern cold, Jason completed the four year curriculum in three years and made his way to American University’s Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C., where he graduated with honors. Jason began his law career in 1993 in Charlotte, NC and started a new firm in the spring of 1996.

In April, 2005, Jason left the firm he co-founded and started the Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor with offices in Charlotte and Hickory. The firm has grown to include offices in Asheville, Winston-Salem and Concord. Jason has argued a wide variety of cases in North Carolina courts including but not limited to: Wrongful death, medical malpractice, motor vehicle negligence, premises liability, breach of contract and criminal cases. Jason has argued cases in counties throughout North Carolina and has given oral arguments to both the North Carolina Industrial Commission as well as the North Carolina Supreme Court.

Personal Life:

Jason is married to Andie Taylor and has two fabulous step-children, Jack and Katie. The Taylor family lives on a farm with their four dogs. Jason enjoys time with the family reading, hunting and riding his Harleys.

In Denver, I worked in the trucking industry as a broker before I attended the University of Denver for graduate school. I received a Master’s degree in management from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver. Following grad school, I moved to northern California where I again worked in the trucking industry. While in California, I realized that I wanted to pursue a career in law. I decided to move back to Ohio, where I attended Capital University Law School in Columbus, OH. While in law school, I won the first-year Moot Court Competition and I was also a member of the Capital Law Review and Moot Court Board. During my 2nd and 3rd years of law school, I worked at a Columbus firm that handled workers’ compensation, personal injury, and social security disability. Despite an offer of employment with that firm, I decided to move back to North Carolina, where the rest of my family has lived since 1995. After passing the North Carolina Bar Exam, I worked as a document review attorney. During that time, I also co-founded a Social Security disability firm. In 2009, Bridgman & Serbin opened its doors and began representing disability claimants throughout the Carolinas. In 2014, after representing hundreds of disability clients, I decided to join the Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor so that I could focus on personal injury and workers’ compensation.

Personal Life:

I am married with two children. When not being forced to watch the Disney Channel, I enjoy sports (especially Penn State and Steelers football), traveling, and poker.

  • Dear Jason E. Taylor Law Office, Please forgive my delay in responding to the outcome of the above court date with my son. I cannot thank you enough. YOU ROCK!!!!!

    Sincerely, S.J.
  • Dear Jason: ...I am letting you know this because if it were not for you I don’t know where my family would be right now. I feel sure that I would continue to have severe emotional problems due to the heat I am convinced Work Comp. would have kept on me and my family. During this four year ordeal you returned every call I made to you, you dealt with me personally instead of turning me over to your paralegals, kept me out of jail when I lost control with Dr. S, went to court with me over a matter that you were not being paid for, (you will never know how much that meant to me and I can’t find the words to explain it.) you visited me in the hospital on several occasions, kept in touch with my family and reassured them that everything would be alright, (that meant so much to Hannah) you kept us informed at every bend and turn in the road, and you put up with a lot of grief from my mother and aunt without holding their attitudes against me. You were also completely prepared to take this case to court which I think the defense attorney knew and because of that they felt a settlement was in their best interest...

    Sincerely, H, M, B, J & B
  • Mr. Taylor: You will never know how much my family appreciates what you & your staff have done in helping my father with the wrongful death case for my mother. Everyone at your office has been so nice, helpful & respectful to my brother, myself, but more importantly to my father. We will always miss my mother and no amount of money can replace her presence with us, but it means so much to know that someone cares and is willing to help out and go the extra mile to help in a time of loss and need. May god bless you and your staff for all the work and effort that was extended on our behalf. Once again, words cannot express my thankfulness toward you Mr. Taylor. Thank you!

    BG and family
  • Dear Mr. Jason Taylor, We thank you & your staff for the wonderful job you all have done for our Auto case. We are so blessed to have found you. A BIG thank you for all your hard work and commitment for our case and family. The settlement that we got back was such a big blessing. Keep up the good work and God Bless you and your family. Again, a huge thank you. Take care and it was so nice to meet you and also have you handle our (me & my son) cases. Thanks a million.

    M.S. & Family
  • Jason, I appreciate all you did to represent me in my case against wake forest, I have gradually had a ceasing in the numbness of my hand, but I feel I will eventually heal. Thanks for your newsletter. I will use your firm in the future for any representation I could need. God Bless ya’ll and have a great new year.

    Sincerely, R.W./AKA The Fedex Guy
  • Dear Mr. Taylor: I would like to thank you for the excellent representation that you provided to M. on his case against USAA. You were professional, compassionate, and never made M. feel that his case was too small or unimportant. You always took his feelings into consideration each step of the legal process. I always felt it was an injustice that the blame for M.’s injuries was placed on him. The driver and insurance company never accepted any responsibility. You were able to accomplish something that no one else felt was possible. I will always be indebted to G. for the recommendation to you. He certainly was aware of your capabilities. I don’t know if you have ever watched the show Boston Legal but there is a character played by James Spader who is an attorney. I have always told my husband if I ever needed an attorney I want him to find someone just like this character. He fights for his clients and shows compassion throughout the entire process. In you, I have found the closest person to this fictional character. Thank you again for all of your hard work on this case. I wish you the very best in your practice.

    Sincerely, C.S.
  • Eileen and Jason, There are no words to express the gratitude I feel for entrusting your law office with my MVA.  I commend and admire your expertise wholeheartedly and with utmost respect.  You and Jason have helped me so much so I can better focus on caring for my 3 year old daughter and one year old son. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for either of you now or in the future.

    Sincerely, N
  • Every single person that my family and I came into contact with was so nice, helpful, and thoughtful. I cannot say enough to sing the praises of Jason Taylor and his staff. You helped us navigate through a difficult time in our lives with such compassion and we are eternally grateful for everything.

    With Love, A. and B. D.

JET in the Community

Planting a seedling

At The Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor we believe in giving back and supporting the communities we are connected to.

  • Bikers for Bikers Foundation – We are a Charter Member and make a donation from our fee in every case where we represent a biker regardless of whether the case involves a motorcycle. We make the donations in the name of our clients.
  • Food Banks – Our staff brings in a canned good to the office each Friday or $1.00 in exchange for dressing casual. The money collected buys more canned goods and the firm matches each case the employees generate.
  • Ducks Unlimited – The firm maintains a membership to support the preservation of waterfowl and their habitats.
  • Forever Blue Foundation – Our firm is a sponsor each year of their motorcycle ride raising monies for the slain and injured officers and their families.
We also provide financial support on an annual basis to the fire departments, Shriners and Toys for Tots in a number of counties throughout North Carolina. We give time and money to numerous other organizations year to year, rotating as needed.

Stay in the Loop

Subscribe to our monthly newsletter to find out about local charity rides, get schooled on relevant legal matters, or hear what’s going on with our local legislators. Jason’s passion for his work and politics is apparent in all of his writing. Occasionally, he’ll even address the humorous side of practicing law with short stories that are not to be missed!

    • Special Rules Can Be Bought

440,000 people die every year from preventable medical errors. That’s right, medical malpractice kills almost a half a million people a year. Want to know something else? In most states, including North Carolina, the doctors and hospitals can get away with it, no accountability.

    • Casting your vote

Many of you know that I have a “thing” for the Constitution. I frequently write about our rights as they are set out in the first 10 amendments, The Bill of Rights. My passion for protecting “citizen rights,” the rights of the people, extends to all threats, foreign and domestic, and let me be clear, I absolutely believe that our rights are threatened.

“Had I known then what I know now…” is a phrase that we hear a lot. Very often we hear this from a client after they find out that there is no more insurance money available to them.
